A Fully Custom-Made Installation for the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons

Lucile Soufflet, Designer, collaborated with Fermob on the Museum's renovation

As part of the complete renovation of the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons (Belgium), designer Lucile Soufflet teamed up with Fermob to design the museum’s dining area. This installation was entirely custom-made by Fermob’s Special Projects team.

Developed in response to a public call for proposals, this project was led by an all-female trio: Lucile, the designer; Elodie from the prototyping department; and Claire, head of Fermob’s Special Projects team. To bring the designs to life, specific tooling was created and utilized at Fermob’s manufacturing facility.

The steel furniture features invisible welds, creating the impression that the sheets of metal were simply folded onto the frames. Given the uneven ground of the site, adjustable feet were integrated into the table legs to ensure stability.

In total, over 50 chairs some with integrated side tables and 30 tables of various formats now bring subtle colors to the gardens, ranging from Storm Grey to Rosemary.
