Manoir du Guern,
Pluvigner

Lying in the heart of the Morbihan region in Brittany, a 16th century building has been converted into an exceptional venue proposing guest rooms and holiday rentals.

The unique style of this former rectory offers a warm welcome to its guests

Manoir du Guern, built in the 16th century, was a rectory for two centuries from 1730 to 1930. Bernard Baudoin and his wife fell in love with this extraordinarily charming place. It has been fully renovated, but the restoration has preserved the authenticity and character of the old building, turning it into attractive, welcoming accommodation for tourists.

Today, four guest rooms and two holiday rentals welcome guests all year round to this authentic part of southern Brittany.

Bernard Baudoin: “I discovered the Fermob brand at the Equip’Hotel trade fair in 2018.”

The couple, seeking future furnishings, was attracted to the emblematic Luxembourg collection, inspired by the famous Parisian gardens and redesigned by Frédéric Sofia in 2004.

My key criteria were quality and comfort. I was also looking for robust products. The Fermob furniture stays outdoors all year round and is perfectly resistant to our capricious Breton weather without needing any particular maintenance.

LUXEMBOURG is a robust but practical collection, because the products can be stacked. Light and easy to move around, they are placed around each of the Manoir du Guern rental properties: in the inner courtyard for dining, or in the lounge version along the moat or on the large rear terrace with its magnificent panoramic views of the local countryside.

The Red Ochre colour and the timeless style of the collection are a perfect match for the noble materials used for the renovation project, like the terracotta tiles, lime plaster or ancient wood panelling.

From the extensive colour chart, we picked Red Ochre to evoke the sails of the traditional Morbihan rigs,” explained Bernard Baudoin.

The furniture, which is also used around the indoor heated pool, is also suitable for this warm, damp, chlorinated, indoor environment, being made from aluminium.

Nutmeg colour BALAD lights in the Nutmeg colour, either free-standing or hanging from the offset stand from the same collection, provide soft, artful lighting for long summer evenings at the manor. These lightweight, wireless lamps can accompany the guests wherever they go as they explore the site’s 6-hectare park.

PAXI 200x200 parasols by Vlaemynck provide stylish shade for the private terraces with their sleek designs and simple opening system.

"As managers, we appreciate the ease of use and solidity of Fermob products. We wanted to provide our guests with real comfort to make the most of our outdoor areas and our exceptional environment".
