Renovation of a restaurant terrace with a rustic, southwestern French charm.

On the dunes of Mimizan, in the heart of the Landes region, the restaurant A Noste has recently undergone a stunning makeover. In collaboration with Fermob’s Contract team, interior designer Jessica Ballion-Ohana redesigned the 350-seat establishment and its terrace, drawing inspiration from the Basco-Landais architectural style of the 1930s.“I wanted a contemporary feel for the brasserie, but with a slight retro touch, referencing the historic seaside bathhouses that once lined the coast,” she explained.

In addition to Fermob's iconic Luxembourg collection, the vertical and horizontal lines of the Stripe chair, designed by Matali Crasset, became a key feature. Its design evokes the lifeguard chairs that overlooked swimmers along the beach. Beyond aesthetics, the project required products that are weather-resistant, built to withstand heavy use, and easy to maintain.

When it came to colour selection, traditional hues of local architecture were chosen from Fermob’s palette of 25 colours: Chili, for warmth and conviviality; Cotton White, evoking a seaside spirit; and Clay Grey, adding subtle, nuanced tones.
