Product description
With its soft, welcoming curves, the Sixties collection – designed by Frédéric Sofia – combines a lightweight aluminium construction with an equally lightweight, stylised, airy vintage weave that’s exclusive to Fermob. The woven threads form a soft, comfortable seat that hugs the shape of the user’s body. And when the sun’s shining, the woven seats cast alluring shadows, creating pretty geometric patterns on the ground. Made from outdoor-grade synthetic polyethylene fibre, the round “scoobie” weave is capable of withstanding external stresses. The aluminium frame, meanwhile, is covered with a polyester powder coating that means it can withstand even the harshest weather conditions and intensive use, even by the sea. The weave on the Sixties Rocking Chair takes 11 hours to make by hand: a feat of authentic artistry and craftsmanship. It takes a full 224 metres of thread to make this product: that’s equivalent to the height of a 65-storey building – higher than the Tour Montparnasse or the Trump Tower! Thanks to its lightweight build, it’s easy to carry to the bottom of the garden, or even into the lounge, where it will blend in seamlessly on account of its compact format and retro, timeless style. And it’s available in four on-trend colours. What’s not to love?
